Unit 1819 was originally founded as the Norwich University Cyber Rangers as the competitive team for the NSA Cyber Exercise. Following AY 2022-23, the club's name was changed to Unit 1819.

Along with participating in the NSA Cyber Exercise, Unit 1819 takes part in several different capture-the-flag events as well as the National Cyber League. It is Norwich University's premier cyber team and looks to help advance it's members in all different aspects of cybersecurity.
